As an LED display screen used for outdoor advertising, it has much higher requirements for the usage environment than general displays. During the use of outdoor LED display, due to different environments, it is often affected by high temperature, typhoon, rainstorm, thunder and lightning and other bad weather. What precautions should we take to keep the display safe in bad weather?
1、 High temperature prevention
Outdoor LED display screens usually have a large area and consume a lot of power during application, resulting in a large amount of heat dissipation. In addition, with high external temperatures, if the heat dissipation problem cannot be solved in a timely manner, it is likely to cause problems such as circuit board heating and short circuits. In production, to ensure that the display circuit board is in good condition, it is advisable to choose a hollow design when designing the casing, which helps with heat dissipation. During installation, it is important to ensure that the display screen is well ventilated based on the device’s condition. If necessary, add cooling equipment to the display screen, such as installing an air conditioner or fan inside to help dissipate heat.
2、 Typhoon prevention
The installation location and method of outdoor LED display screens vary, including wall mounted, embedded, pillar mounted, and suspended types. So during the typhoon season, in order to prevent the outdoor LED display screen from falling off, there are strict requirements for the load-bearing steel frame structure of the display screen. The engineering unit must strictly design and install according to the standards of typhoon resistance, and also have certain seismic resistance to ensure that outdoor LED display screens will not fall and cause harm such as casualties.
3、 Rainstorm prevention
There are many rainy weather conditions in the south, so LED display screens themselves need to have a high level of waterproof protection to avoid being eroded by rainwater. In outdoor use environments, outdoor LED display screens must achieve IP65 protection level, and the module must be sealed with glue. A waterproof box should be selected, and the module and the box should be connected with waterproof rubber rings.
4、 Lightning protection
(1) Direct lightning protection: For outdoor LED screens that are not within the direct lightning protection range of nearby tall buildings, lightning rods should be installed on the top or near the steel structure of the display screen;
(2) Induction lightning protection: The outdoor LED display screen power supply system is equipped with level 1-2 power lightning protection, and signal lightning protection devices are installed on the signal lines. At the same time, the power supply system in the computer room is equipped with level 3 lightning protection, and signal lightning protection devices are installed on the equipment ends in and out of the signal room;
(3) All LED display screen circuits (power and signal) should be shielded and buried;
(4) The grounding system of the outdoor LED display screen front end and the computer room should meet the system requirements. Generally, the grounding resistance of the front end should be less than or equal to 4 ohms, and the grounding resistance of the computer room should be less than or equal to 1 ohm.
By taking the above protective measures, no matter how harsh the environment may be, outdoor LED displays can operate safely and safely.
