LED display will appear dead light and false soldering after using for a period of time. This period of time may be from a few months to a few years, or it may be that led display manufacturers have such problems in production. It can be said that dead light and false soldering have always been the inevitable problems for LED display manufacturers to package SMD, and the reason why the LED electronic large screen appears dead light is it. The five main materials of LED light source are money, chip, bracket, phosphor, solid crystal and encapsulation glue. If any one of them has a problem, it may cause the LED display dead light. The following is a brief analysis by LED display manufacturers why these factors lead to LED screen dead light phenomenon.
Gold thread
Gold wire has the characteristics of high conductivity, good thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, good chemical stability and good toughness, but the price of gold wire is relatively expensive, resulting in the cost of packaging several times or even dozens of times higher than other materials. Therefore, in order to meet the demand of the middle and low end market, plus the high conductivity of gold, silver, copper and aluminum, LED display manufacturers use copper wire, copper alloy, gold clad silver alloy wire and silver alloy wire instead of gold wire.
Although these substitutes are better than gold thread in some properties, they are much less chemically stable. For example, silver wire and gold clad silver alloy wire are susceptible to sulfur, chlorine and bromination corrosion, while copper wire is prone to oxidation. For the encapsulated silica gel of water absorbing and breathable sponge, these alternatives make the bonding wire vulnerable to chemical corrosion and reduce the reliability of the light source. This is also the reason why the LED lamp bead will break and die after the LED electronic large screen has been used for a long time.

For the gold wire, if the length of the gold wire is fixed, and the diameter of the raw material of the gold wire is half of the original, then the resistance measured for the gold wire is one fourth of the normal. But for suppliers, the smaller the diameter of gold wire, the lower its cost, and the higher its profit when the price of raw materials remains unchanged. Generally speaking, if the diameter deviation is 1g gold, the gold wire with a length of 26.37m and a diameter of 50 μ m (2 mil) can be drawn, or the gold wire with a length of 105.49m and a diameter of 25 μ m (1 mil) can be drawn. It is precisely because of these deviations that the profits of suppliers rise. But for the LED display manufacturers using gold wire packaging, if they are not familiar with the raw materials and directly use the gold wire with shoddy workmanship, the resistance will increase, thus the fuse current will reduce the service life of the LED light source, which is the reason for the dead light. The life of 1.0mil gold wire is obviously shorter than that of 1.2mil gold wire.
